The SapphireOne Create Manifest Run tool enables the SapphireOne user to create a manifest for a particular delivery run. This gives the SapphireOne user the ability to link a Manifest with a predetermined Delivery Run.
The SapphireOne Delivery Run function has been added as a precursor to the Manifest function and assists the SapphireOne user in creating a Manifest automatically. A Manifest is a list of goods either being delivered to or shipped from a warehouse. A Manifest will generally include a listed description of the cargo items, the quantity, origin and the destination. In logistics, a Manifest describes a list of Inventory based invoices carried on a mode of transport, such as a ship, plane, truck, train or van. The SapphireOne Manifest Inquiry screen is a file containing delivery dockets, invoices, picking and packing slips and electronic files that can be sent electronically via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
For example, a SapphireOne user may be required to link a Client Order due for delivery on a particular delivery date. The delivery order sequence will have already have been set up in the SapphireOne Delivery Run functionality and have a predetermined date and client attached to it. The SapphireOne user can utilise the Create Manifest Run tool and link those particular orders relevant to that delivery date and sequence. This gives the SapphireOne user the ability to organise the delivery of item by carrier i.e. Postal Service or a Courier/Freight company.
