Password Class Overview
The Password Class feature in SapphireOne is designed to facilitate the categorisation of passwords into relevant groups. This functionality is essential for maintaining the connection between related password credentials, ensuring that your organisation can efficiently manage and secure its digital assets. Once a password class is established, it becomes available for allocation on a password record using the dynamic field provided on the details page. This article will guide you through the process of utilising the Password Class feature, including creating, viewing, and modifying password classes.
To access the Password Class feature, navigate to Assets Mode > Assets General > Assets General Inquiries > Assets Password Class. Upon opening, you will be presented with a list of existing password classes. This list provides a comprehensive view of all the password classes currently set up within your organisation.
Password Class Details Page
Select the New Button on the taskbar to create a new password class or select the Look or modify buttons accordingly upon entering the record the available fields for viewing or editing the record are as follows.
Password Class Area
The available fields in the password class area are as follows.
- Class ID – A unique identifier for the password class.
- Company ID – The identifier for the company associated with the password class.
- Class – The name of the password class.
Notes Area
This section allows for the addition of expanded descriptions and notes related to the password class. A timestamp button is available here to record the date and time of any entries made, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
Linked Area
In this area, any passwords assigned to the selected class will be listed. This provides a convenient way to view and modify passwords associated with a particular class, ensuring that all related credentials are easily accessible and manageable.
