As part of its end-of-financial-year preparation, Frutex has completed a full warehouse stocktake using SapphireOne WebPack StocktakeEntry, demonstrating how large, multi-warehouse operations can be stocktaked accurately and efficiently in real time.

Frutex has been a SapphireOne client since 1999 and operates from a 60,000-square-metre site comprising seven warehouses. The business is recognised as a technology leader in the food industry, with ongoing investment in modern plant, equipment, and infrastructure.

    Frutex warehouse facilities

Frutex recently completed significant expansions to both its frozen and dry storage facilities at its existing site.

The frozen storage facility operates at -20°C and provides approximately 3,500 pallet spaces, while the newly completed dry storage facility adds a further 7,000 pallet spaces. Together with earlier developments, Frutex now manages more than 44,000 pallet spaces across dry, frozen, and production environments.

    Live stocktaking with SapphireOne WebPack

Harry, IT & Marketing Manager at Frutex, explains how the SapphireOne WebPack played a key role in streamlining their stocktake process:

“Heads up, we are stocktaking today using SapphireOne’s new and improved multi-warehouse support, with live stocktake visual map updates showing us what’s been counted as we go along. It’s been great working with the SapphireOne team, who have worked tirelessly over the last couple of weeks to make this possible for us.”

Using SapphireOne WebPack, Frutex was able to stocktake the entire facility in just two days, with 15 stocktake teams working simultaneously on iPads across the site. The live visual warehouse mapping allowed teams to see progress in real time, significantly reducing duplication, delays, and manual reconciliation.

    Infrastructure supporting real-time operations

To support this level of operational visibility, Frutex recently implemented a 10-gigabit Ubiquiti network, utilising more than 100 UniFi devices to deliver full Wi-Fi coverage across the site. The facility is also monitored by over 100 surveillance cameras, all accessible via iPad and iPhone applications.

Despite the scale of the operation, the entire environment is managed by a relatively small IT team, highlighting the efficiency gained through integrated systems and mobile access.

    SapphireOne custom WebPack in action

Frutex uses a custom SapphireOne WebPack, fully integrated across all warehouses and production areas. A key feature is warehouse mapping, which enables stock to be tracked and viewed live on portable iOS devices over the company’s Wi-Fi network.

Stocktaking at Frutex spans nine distinct warehouse locations, all managed within a single, unified SapphireOne data file. This ensures consistency, accuracy, and real-time visibility across the entire operation.

SapphireOne WebPack StocktakeEntry demonstrates how large, complex warehouse environments can complete accurate stocktakes quickly, with minimal disruption, by combining mobile technology, real-time data, and visual warehouse mapping—all within a single integrated ERP platform.

  • How to Set Up and Process Employee Commissions in SapphireOne

How to Set Up and Process Employee Commissions in SapphireOne

SapphireOne will process an employee Commission for you, and you can view the Sales Commission Report.

A commission is a payment made to employees or agents when they achieve a defined result, most commonly a sale. Commissions may be calculated as a percentage of the sale value or as a fixed amount based on sales volume. These payments are performance-based and are widely used in sales roles such as retail, automotive, and real estate.

For example, if a salesperson sells a computer for $1,000 and earns a 6% commission, the commission payable is $60.

According to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), when a commission, bonus, or similar payment relates to work performed in a single pay period (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly), the amount is added to the employee’s other earnings for that period. PAYG withholding is then calculated using the standard tax tables.

Commissions may be paid as an employee’s sole earnings or in addition to their regular wages.

How Sales Commissions Work in Practice

Sales employees typically earn a base salary plus commission for meeting or exceeding defined sales targets. A sales commission is additional compensation designed to reward performance above a minimum threshold.

    Employers use commissions to:

    • Incentivise higher sales performance
    • Reward productivity and results
    • Align employee goals with business growth

Sales commissions have proven to be an effective compensation model and are widely used across many industries.

    Managing and Reporting on Commissions

SapphireOne allows businesses to manage commissions flexibly and at scale. You can:

    • Configure commission structures
    • Create custom fields and calculation formulas
    • Build dashboards for performance tracking
    • Generate detailed commission and sales reports

This ensures commissions are calculated accurately, reported clearly, and aligned with your broader payroll and accounting processes.

You can track your sales by employee, sales rep, etc. under Inventory module.
